Self-Image.
Hey Guys!
So today I want to talk about a more serious subject because I want to show some support to the people that need it. Here it goes:
I have a friend that said this to me:
"When I look in the mirror I see a monster staring back at me.." & "I don't eat because I'm scared of becoming obese.." & "I'm fat and ugly.."
I'm not going to be a hypocrite by saying that I don't deny it because I do say:
"No you're not!"
However, the more I hear it from her the more sad I get; you see it's not just the thought, not just their mind telling them that- it's society. If you're not rich enough, skinny enough, pretty enough you do not get excepted into a friendship group. The thought of young teenagers who've got their whole life ahead of them cutting and committing suicide over self-image terrifies me. I cannot imagine life without my friend and she cuts. This week she's been cheerless and the only emotions are annoyance and pain. She says:
"I don't like putting my problems on someone else, please worry about yourself"
I don't think many people see the power within those words and how much hatred you have to get to say them and be confident about them. She's saying "forget about me and pay attention to yourself because one day you're not gonna want to see yourself.." and that's powerful.
So if you do see a monster looking back at you in the mirror just know this: you will beat it. You and me and everyone else will fight it and it's going to fade away- a beautiful Princess or Prince Charming are going to look back at you and say "Well Done". We can overcome our greatest fears by fighting together, so comment your fears down below, let them free.
Also, if you're that friend of mine that I talked about: I love you to bits if I loose you I won't survive.
